Ghost Adventures at Weston

Weston State Hospital Kirkbride
For Halloween this year, “Ghost Adventures” will be at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum on October 30th for a SEVEN HOUR live broadcast. The show will be aired on The Travel Channel from 8PM to 3AM. I haven’t seen much of “Ghost Adventures”, but the few times I did I got a chuckle out of it. In my opinion, they go way over the top whereas a show like “Ghost Hunters” seems to try to maintain some degree of dignity. Regardless of that, the show will provide hours of footage from the former hospital and should be worth tuning in to for that alone. If you’re into the paranormal, you’ll love it even more. And if you also like spiky-haired guys with huge biceps, you’ll be in Heaven!

I watched some of this off and on for a while when it was live. What a load of BS! They over hyped everthing and of couse had all kinds of recording where they “heard” voices. It was a good concept for a show and they really encouraged involvement via the internet. Too bad the guys on the show were complete losers!

Two things amaze me about all this.

One, you simply will not believe the interest and money this type of paranormal stuff can generate with the general public! They are making a ton of money on an abandoned building.

Second, the history of how these buildings came to be and what went on there is far more interesting to me than any of the paranormal stuff. My dad worked at the Weston State Hospital (as it was called then)for 10 years in the 1970’s. I was a kid at the time and it was just his place of work. I have forgotten any stories he may have told the family.

I have to say it was exciting seeing this building on Live(cost to cost)TV. I know this ghost hunting stuff may seem a bit flaky. But it has generated a lot of interest in the Weston Kirkbride. And anything that saves this building from the wrecking ball,is ok with me.

And I might also add, She was the star of the show.
