Tour season has started at the Lewis County landmark.
Story by Hilary Magacs
WESTON -- The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum has started its tour season and visitors can see what the asylum looked like during various time periods.
An 1870s room features furniture from that time period from a lunatic asylum in Massachusetts.
The mid 20th century room has couches and chairs that were used during the 1930s.
Wheelchairs, electro-shock therapy boxes and instruments used for lobotomies are on display in the medical room.
"On our tours, we talk a lot about the different medical treatments that were here in the asylum. We want people to see what patients would have seen when they walked in here and to see the beauty of the day as well," says Rebecca Jordan Gleason, TALA operations manager.
Jordan Gleason says TALA is always looking for furniture and other period item donations.

they took their stuff from an auction from taunton, they said it was a pre-demo auction .. i took a video of the one period room with alot of the stuff .. i'll have to upload it.
I have to say, i was there 2 years ago - they have done great work. they fixed the banster on the main stair case in the lobby - the right side the ornate was missing.
i need to get some before and after shots up, i hope they continue with the great work!
