FWIW,

The site of what was once Danvers State Hospital has been updated on Google maps. It now show a half completed Danvers Avalon condo project. I've seen a lot of photos of the condos from gound level and have been waiting for an aerial.

Is there a way to get the older aerials?

Not sure about Google Maps, but z11111 posted about the old Live.com (now bing.com) aerials which you can see here.

Thanks, I wish there was a historical areal map site that has a lot of these places when they were built. One that comes to mind that I would love to see a great areal photo would be Pontiac State Hospital. That comes a very close second to my other favorite Kirkbride, Buffalo State Hospital.

I found a site a while back that had aerials from the 50's. I looked up Worcester and Danvers but the quality was piss poor and you really couldn't see anything too close up.

I can't believe more hospitals didn't have panoramic or aerials made during thier heyday.
